Time For Change Military Government Loads

Remember back in the day when Military loads were paying at 200 percent?

Everyone made a decent living hauling government loads, well them days are gone, The government has made more changes and does not even know or understand what we deal with as drivers.

The high cost of labor, fuel, the unnecessary need for more paperwork, the deception of many brokers stealing from drivers fuel surcharge, extras, and the government not wanting to pay for shuttles when a driver could not get there trucks in a particular area due to low hanging wires, trees. The government thinks they know each and every drivers trucks assuming each one is the same and will denies many extra services. Their was an time that you got paid per box, long carriers, elevators. some time ago the idiots in suit and ties that have never driven a truck decided to single factor all these extras, shame on them.

Other disadvantages of hauling a government load.

Unpacking services are payed penny’s on the dollar which sometimes does not even cover labor cost

Fuel surcharge is around 2 percent, (what a joke)

pre approval for extras can take days (our suggestion wait for approval before doing services performed, which can cause customer to be delayed)

why are the drivers paying for power track 1.63 percent

why does brokers like tier one relocation take 5 percent or more from agents for SIT (storage in transit) or from the drivers extras, packing, shuttles tier one relocation is the most deceptive broker out there with no assets just a broker, many of times this broker will offer loads to agents and drivers that only show the total weight and where the shipment is going to and from, Hiding the Line Haul or transportation charges and often accepting a load from the government say at 25 percent off the load and offering to the driver or agent at 58 percent off, taking an additional 33 percent in profits.

You also have brokers like Charter that will do the same, not showing any transportation charges.

Below are some examples of what some of these loads look like.

As you can see from charters list, transpierce does not exists when it comes to discount or transportation charges

Total Move Management and tier one are the same way as having deceptive practices by not displaying line haul charges and sometimes the discount of the shipment….

The most transparent company that we see is National van lines in which is a carrier and not an broker, here is an sample of their offerings, showing the weight, true discount and where shipment is going from and to.

715784 07/25/24 08/09/24 KILLEEN TX CABOT AR 3600 .49 3161 No No
715691 07/22/24 08/09/24 SAN ANTONIO TX COLORADO SPRINGS CO 4000 .49 3966 No No
715233 07/26/24 08/13/24 SAN ANTONIO TX GRAND ISLAND NE 4000 .49 4039 Yes No
711302 07/23/24 08/12/24 HILL AIR FORCE BASE UT COLUMBUS OH 7600 .49 8683 Yes No

Now soon to phase in is the

HomeSafe Alliance and USTRANSCOM

Which they claim is going to be better money for contractors and agents, many military members claim they can’t get there moves moved, believe me it has nothing to do with an shortage of drivers,

Here is the truth:

Drivers ( contractors are payed poorly for services rendered)

Drivers are tired of the huge discounts off the moves, companies always say it is all about supply and demand, this is an total crock (lie)

Military require too much paperwork

Drivers are having to wait long times getting on base

Drivers and agents are tired of tier one management and other brokers stealing off other services besides linehaul normal 5 percent off top

Driver and agents are charged for power track fees

Military members file claims just to file claims and make money off the drivers

Many agents and drivers have done unpack jobs when tier one management has taking commission’s from these services

Normal APU charges are only$8.00 when they should be $15 to $20 per hundred to cover the cost of labor

Hauling a shipment for the military requires way to long to get paid for services rendered.

Shame on Wheaton van lines for signing up with the homestead alliance knowing that tier one management was awarded

Our suggestion;

Get rid of power track fees

get rid of tier one management which has no trucks and hides discounts, total charges from drivers and agents

Award National Van lines because they have trucks, alliances with other carriers A.K.A. B. and always been transparent in disclosing what the job pays, the discount and only takes a mere 5 percent of line haul for booking commission’s

Make the paperwork more seamless and simple that does not mean force drivers or agents to buy stupid computer inventories, a person should be able to hand write inventories if they choose too.

Offer discounts off the move like 25 percent in the summer and no more then 35 percent in the non peak season, this way you get moves covered.

Quite being so demanding on your rules for civilians.

Get rid of tier one move management they are every agents worse night mare, just call any moving agent out there and they will tell you.

Quite allowing brokers to be deceptive on agent earnings and drivers.

Remember what to drive safe.
